2.1. Egoli’s last day

In case you haven’t heard yet, the last episode of Egoli will go out on 31 March 2010. Egoli was South Africa’s first local soapie when it went on air on 6 April 1992. Nowadays, though, with M-Net no longer having open time, the show’s viewership simply can’t compete with shows like Generations or Scandal! So M-Net decided it was time for Egoli to bow out. Egoli creator Franz Marx is looking forward to the break. “I am going to take some time to rest and rejuvenate before even thinking about new productions. The past 18 years with M-Net have been exciting, but all good things must inevitably come to an end.” Whether the actors are quite so cheerful about losing their jobs remains to be seen.

2.2. Jen vs Angelina again

Jennifer Aniston, who must truly be sick of the subject, spoke about her feelings towards Angelina Jolie in the December issue of Vogue after coming across another Angelina interview in Vogue in which Angie discussed how she fell in love with Brad while he was still married to Jen during the shooting of Mr and Mrs Smith – a fact Brad and Angelina have lied about to the public for years. “There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool,” Jen told Vogue.

2.3 Madonna laws down the law

Guy Ritchie has been reunited with his sons Rocco and David in the midst of his ugly divorce from Madonna, but there are some strings attached. According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Her Madgesty has a set of 12 conditions Guy must follow if he’s to be allowed to stay with the kids, including maintaining her complete media blackout – the kids aren’t allowed to watch TV or DVDs or read newspapers or magazines – Guy may also not discuss the separation with them, the boys may not be introduced to Guy’s new friends (especially any female friends); and Guy is to read the boys Madonna’s English Rose books at bedtime, poor things.
