Singer Taylor Swift celebrated her 20th birthday by donating $250 000 (R1,8 million) to the American education system to help pay teachers, buy books and fund education programmes. She told the San Francisco Chronicle, "Something I wanted to do at the end of this amazing year and especially on my birthday was give back to something I really believe in, which is education.
