Tell the SABC what you think

Want to tell the SABC what you think of their programming (if you like it, you can still say so) and the fact that they’ve put our local soapies at risk by not paying local production companies on time? If you SMS your views to 31970 TV, the TVIEC will compile your complaints (and compliments) in a document they will be handing to the SABC on Thursday 4 June when they hold their protest meeting outside the SABC buildings in Auckland Park, Johannesburg and Cape Town. The SMSes will be charged at 50c each.

Billy Bob’s daughter charged with child neglect

Billy Bob Thornton's oldest daughter, Amanda Brumfield, has been charged with child neglect after the one-year-old she was babysitting died. According to TMZ, Amanda told police last year that the baby girl, Olivia, had fallen from her playpen, but she thought Olivia had just bitten her tongue as she didn't become unresponsive until very much later. But the Associated Press report state that the medical examiner ruled the baby's death a homicide after examining the body, and found Olivia's injuries inconsistent with Amanda's report. A rep from Billy Bob's team told TMZ, "Mr Thornton is estranged from Amanda and has had no contact with her for quite some time, however when informed about this situation he commented that, 'Any time a baby's life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy, and my heart goes out to the baby's family and loved ones.'" Amanda's mother is Billy Bob's first wife, Melissa Lee Gatlin/Parish, whom he left in 1980 after just two years of marriage.

Octomom exploit-o-rama continues

According to America’s People magazine, she has also signed a deal with ghost writer Wendy Leigh, who penned Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone’s scandalous autobiography. Her attorney Jeff Czech told People, "She's really looking forward to telling her story and speaking out about how she was raised, how her children are feeling, what they are asking about and things about the donor dad."
