The hit 80s film Teen Wolf is set to make a comeback as a TV series on MTV. The film starred Spin City’s Michael J Fox as a teenager who discovers he’s actually a werewolf. MTV has commissioned a pilot for a new TV series based on the movie, but says the TV series will be “very different” from the film. According to BBC News, the TV version will be set at a high school and will explore the mythology around werewolves while focussing on romance too (sound familiar, Twilight fans?). "It's a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the centre who provide a great comedy element,” says Liz Gateley, senior vice president of MTV series development. “They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques.” Sounds interesting – and we’re just glad MTV is finally moving on from reality shows.
