The LA Times has confirmed that Angelina Jolie will be playing novelist Patricia Cornwell’s medical examiner, Kay Scarpetta. The film won’t be based on any of the 17 books in the series, but on a new screenplay. It’ll be set in the present day, but will start Kay off as a younger working woman, who has to make people see how brilliant she can be at the job. ’Cos goodness knows, women in their 50s don’t exist in PHOTO CREDIT: E!
