TV snack ads make kids fat

UCLA researcher Fred Zimmerman claims TV food ads could be making your kids fat. He told the New York Times it wasn’t the amount of time kids under the age of seven spent in front of the TV, as much as the number of ads they saw, that increased their chances of obesity. And they’re seeing a lot – one ad for every five minutes of Saturday morning children’s TV in America, and most of those ads for junk food! “Advertisers have been clever about building brand loyalty, making these foods seem attractive,” he commented.
