The publicist for hit film Precious has quit because her client, host and comedienne Mo’Nique, just doesn’t seem to get the fact that she should be out there promoting her role in the film everyone’s saying will land her the best supporting actress Oscar next year. Showbiz 411 reports that publicist Tresa Sanders threw in the towel after having to explain why Mo’Nique had ditched yet another scheduled appearance, this time at the New York Film Festival. There are also whispers that Mo’Nique has demanded money for doing publicity for the film – a first in Hollywood, as most actors consider it part of the ludicrous salaries they’re paid. Precious has been scooping up awards all over the place since its premiere in January, and is gaining buzz as this year’s Slumdog Millionaire – a “small” film that ultimately went on to be 2008’s biggest award winner.PHOTO CREDIT: examiner.com
